Our hearts continue to break for our neighbors in need. -- Thursday October 3rd, 2024 So many of our rescue friends are marching thru the trail of destruction. While hopes are sadly diminishing for the missing rescues of loved humans, our furrpals are surfacing. Footprints in the mud are showing that their are survivors that need help as well as many animals are needing supplies. Two of our rescue frineds, Sister Kitten and True Rescue want to get the word out to other rescue groups or people coming in with pet food donations to Asheville area. Please take note and share! There is a pet food distribution center that has been started at Asheville veterinary Associates located at 50 New Leicester Hwy in Asheville. If you are fortunate enough to donate, please make sure your dollars are wisely used. After decades in this, I can tell you the best way to get the help to those that need it is to do the research and see who is there and how many animals are being helped. You can't go wrong any time you give to local groups like these two rescues. You also can't go wrong any time you donate to Bissell Pet Foundation or Best Friends. I see both these groups help over and over as well as Petco Love, PetSmart, and Chewy. Please follow our fb to see shares of the heroic efforts. First Week of 2024 was a success! -- Friday January 5th, 2024 We sure wish we could have more weeks like this! Our 2024 number one goal is to document everything! This week, we actually had 13 females spayed, 14 males neutered, transferred in one kitten from a local shelter, and had 4 adoptions to absolutely wonderful forever homes. And 2 of them were hard to place cats! Kentucky Kitty Cats sure needed this. To continue to be of any use, we have to focus on spay and neuter and placement of babies to great homes. We love them and want to keep them all, but we have hit a number that is just more than our volunteer base and funding can afford. It’s been a nightmare since Covid that got worse every year. Not this year. We are claiming victory over stressors that harm our babies and our mental health. This is going to be the year we accomplish many goals. Please continue to vote. And if you want to help us in any way even if it’s a few hours a month, please let us know. We can’t do student volunteers without parents just yet. But by summer we hope to be in a position that we can. We believe the youth is our future. We just have zero free time to spend with them until our numbers are down.
