Badger is one of 6 puppies from Annie. It took us 2 months to catch sweet Annie because she was terrified, but she is doing great now. We were able to catch her just 5 days before she delivered her beautiful babies. Fortunately we have been working this area for a while, and know much about the puppies genetics. Long story short, people that won’t spay and neuter suck, and the dogs paid for it. Puppies grandma on dad’s side was a lab mix with a dominate lab look. Grandpa on dad’s side is a gorgeous coon hound. Their pups is the dad that was with Annie, which is a full blooded smaller beagle. We have 4 puppies left available for preadoption. Bolt is the only dominantly white pup of the litter. He reminds us of a lemon beagle, but may possibly be bigger than a beagle. Please don’t ask us their potential size. We are a super small, no kill rescue that is operating way above our capacity. Our numbers have increased exponentially since Covid. Unlike most shelters, we remained open and hit record intake numbers after the epidemic hit. We have taken in dozens of very sick felines that had no other option, and have even helped over 60 canines in 2021. 2022 was not any better. We are trying to compute our end of the year numbers, but intake, vetting expenses, cost of food and litter for our 120 plus cats all just continues to get worse with the cost of living increasing like it has. Our rescue has also provided record number spay/neuters 2023 at well over 1200 surgeries on cats and dogs. Our accounts are drained, but we feel these surgeries are the only way we are going to be able to stay a float. We will never keep up with the rate that cats can breed in our area.
We operate solely on donations, and we are always looking for wonderful families to join our efforts. We have dozens of felines not posted and dozens more on our waiting list. No matter what type of setting you have, if you are looking to save a feline, we can find one for you to help.
