We often try to help dogs in our area stay out of the shelter and from being given away unvetted on fb for free. We took in Rascal and his two sisters December 16, 2022. Rascal was neutered on Jan 11, 2023 and is now ready to be adopted. He is such a sweet puppy. He’s good with dogs, cats, and kids. Rascal is also vaccinated and microchipped. He will need two more puppy shots, and if you live near us, we will provide them, or can send with him. We really can’t spend time documenting fees and paying taxes since there are only a few of us responsible for well over a hundred animals. However, we are vetting over a hundred dogs and cats a month, and definitely appreciate a donation to help cover the next baby in need. Rascal is still very much a baby and gets nervous with new situations. He will require someone to work with him and train him on basic commands and manners. We are looking for someone with the means, the time, and the willingness to raise him to be a great dog.  His breed is extremely intelligent and loyal but active. Rascal will need access to lots of outdoor time.

Puppies are a decade or even two commitment. The shelters stay full because people take puppies when they are young, and then dump them when they realize they don’t have enough time to train them or the puppy gets too big.  Rascal’s mom is medium size, about 50 lbs, and his dad is med-large, around 65 pounds.  They are lab/heeler mixes. They had 5 pups, 2 of which are black like the parents, and the other three puppies were shades of brown. All 5 have wonderful, funny dispositions and will make awesome companions for families that are willing to give them a forever home. Please don’t apply if you do not have stable permanent housing, the financial ability to provide monthly flea, tick, and hw treatments, yearly checkups, and emergency funds if something arises in between those check ups. Dogs and cats cost money!
