Vanilla Bean came to us off the streets like most our cats, only with Bean, it was far more traumatizing. We don't believe Bean hears much. He may feel vibrations, but basically, he is watching and looking for predators from his street days. He has an open door on his kennel, but rarely wants to get down simply because our rescue has soooooo many furbabies right now. All are very loved and nurtured, but Vanilla Bean needs a family that understands what he needs. We are looking for someone that is either experienced with deaf animals or experienced with special needs in general. It took us close to a month to earn this guy's trust enough to get our hands on him. At first he shook with fear, growled a little, and coward down. BUT and this is a big one, as soon as he knew he was safe, he melted in our arms and hugged us. He wants to be someone's lap baby so bad and deserves to be. Of course Bean is ONLY looking for calm, inside only homes. He doesn't seem to mind who is loving on him and responds well to our children volunteers that understand how to handle cats properly.
