Like many kitties we help, Lucy and Ethel came from an area with a large number of kitties and very little resources. We were contacted to help the girls because their eyes were bulging and the babies were suffering. The girls were taken into foster with some other babies from the area. All kitties were combo tested negative. Lucy and Ethel flew right thru their eye surgery like it was nothing. They remained in foster and grew very close to each other. Both girls have finished their vetting and received all their kitty shots. They are looking for a forever home with lots of love and companionship and understanding. They only have known one family so far, so we are asking for a family that understands how to allow the girls to relax and learn their new environment. Their adopters need to have a stable home that will not consider surrendering them a year or two down the road because a baby is coming or they got a new pet. We are a super small, no kill rescue that is operating way above our capacity. Our numbers have increased exponentially since Covid. Unlike most shelters, we remained open and hit record intake numbers after the epidemic hit. We have taken in dozens of very sick felines that had no other option, and have even helped over 60 canines in 2021. 2022 was not any better. We are trying to compute our end of the year numbers, but intake, vetting expenses, cost of food and litter for our 120 plus cats all just continues to get worse with the cost of living increasing like it has. Our rescue has also provided record number spay/neuters 2023 at well over 1200 surgeries on cats and dogs. Our accounts are drained, but we feel these surgeries are the only way we are going to be able to stay a float. We will never keep up with the rate that cats can breed in our area.
We operate solely on donations, and we are always looking for wonderful families to join our efforts. We have dozens of felines not posted and dozens more on our waiting list. No matter what type of setting you have, if you are looking to save a feline, we can find one for you to help.
