About Pup (Shiloh)

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
Pup pup ( officially named Shiloh on records) came to us April 20, 2018. Although we are primary a cat rescue, we have a soft spot for beagles. There is no way we could leave this girl suffering another day. This girl has been put threw the ringer. When she came to us, she was only using 3 legs and could not balance to stand. Pup literally could not make in any further in life. The shelter was no place for her to go. She has had lots of cuts and injured places. She was hw positive and had trouble breathing. She was malnourished and dehydrated. It was just pitiful and heartbreaking. See other special needs information for past. Pup doesn't hold this former neglect against humans. Just the opposite, She wants to be loved, wants to sit as close to you as she can, and never has a cranky moment. She does however spend lots of hours a day sleeping. She needs a family that has the time to make her a priority, take her places, and keep her active in life. She came to us so thin, and her system seems to be saving every bite she eats for those hard times again. She went from being about 10 pounds underweight, to about 5-10 pounds overweight. Other than her hw pill (about $10) and a good food diet, she really doesn't need a large financial commitment. The hip and jaw injury have healed enough that she has learned to compensate. I use natural remedies as needed for most of her needs. She will, however, need an adopter with the resources to have her seen by a quality vet, and keep her health as optimal as possible. She looks old, but her teeth show to be only a few years old. She has a decade of great days ahead of her. If you are interested in making sure this baby has the best life possible and never does without again, please contact us for more information, pictures, videos, etc.

We are a super small, no kill rescue that is operating way above our capacity. Our numbers have increased exponentially since Covid. Unlike most shelters, we remained open and hit record intake numbers after the epidemic hit. We have taken in dozens of very sick felines that had no other option, and have even helped over 60 canines in 2021. 2022 was not any better.  We are trying to compute our end of the year numbers, but intake, vetting expenses, cost of food and litter for our 120 plus cats all just continues to get worse with the cost of living increasing like it has. Our rescue has also provided record number spay/neuters 2023 at well over 1200 surgeries on cats and dogs. Our accounts are drained, but we feel these surgeries are the only way we are going to be able to stay a float. We will never keep up with the rate that cats can breed in our area.

We operate solely on donations, and we are always looking for wonderful families to join our efforts. We have dozens of felines not posted and dozens more on our waiting list. No matter what type of setting you have, if you are looking to save a feline, we can find one for you to help.
